Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information eazy data collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA).
1. Who is responsible for your data
eazy data, operated by Cynefin Technologies Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), is the data controller for the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@eazydata.com.ng.
2. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, phone number, email address and password (stored encrypted).
- Transaction data — wallet funding, data and airtime purchases, the recipient phone numbers and networks you top up, and referrals.
- Payment information — funding is handled by Paystack. We receive confirmation and a reference for each payment; we do not store your full card number or bank login details.
- Technical data — information created when you use the app, such as device type, app version, approximate log data and IP address, used for security and to keep the Service working.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and log you in.
- To process wallet funding and deliver airtime and data.
- To run the referral programme.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To send you service messages (such as transaction results and important notices). We only send marketing messages where allowed, and you can opt out.
- To meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
4. Legal bases
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), to meet our legal obligations, for our legitimate interests (such as preventing fraud and improving the Service), and with your consent where required (such as optional marketing).
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- Paystack — to process wallet funding.
- Airtime/data vending partners — the recipient phone number and network are sent to our vending provider to deliver your purchase.
- Infrastructure & support providers — trusted services that host our systems and help us operate, under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities — where we are required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
6. How we protect your data
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption of passwords and sensitive fields, access controls, and secure connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the regulator of a breach where the law requires.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as we need to meet legal, tax, accounting and fraud-prevention obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- request deletion of your data where there is no lawful reason for us to keep it;
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent for marketing at any time; and
- lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
To exercise any of these, email support@eazydata.com.ng. We may need to verify your identity first, and some data must be retained where the law requires.
9. Children
eazy data is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
